Puppy amigurumi free English pattern

MATERIALS:

2 mm tulip crochet hook

8 mm cartoon eyes or

plain black safety eyes

10 mm safety nose

hard felt in White

fabric glue

fiberfill

tapestry needle


YARNS:


Milk cotton yarn in

Tawny – arms, legs, body, and head

and Caramel - ears

Mercerized cotton thread

in Black to embroid the mouth


ABBREVIATIONS:


RND - round

RNDS - rounds

ch - chain

chs - chains

sc - single crochet

st - stitch

sts - stitches

sl st - slip stitch

inc - increase

dec - decrease

FLO - front loop only


Ears (make 2) crochet with Caramel yarn

RND 1: 6 sc in magic ring

Sl st in the 1s st, and ch 1

(do these in each RND of the ears)

RND 2: inc (6x) = 12 sc

RND 3: 1 sc, 1 inc (6x) = 18 sc

RND 4 & 5: sc all around = 2 RNDS of 18 sc

RND 6: 1 sc, 1 dec (6x) = 12 sc

RND 7 - 9: sc all around = 3 RNDS of 12 sc

RND 10: 1 sc, 1 dec (4x) = 8 sc

Flatten the edges, 4 sc through sts of both layers (closing the hole)


ARMS (make 2)

RND 1: 6 sc in magic ring

Sl st in the 1s st, and ch 1

(do these in each RND of the arms)

RND 2: 2 sc, 1 inc (2x) = 8 sc

RND 3 - 7: sc all around = 5 RNDS of 8 sc

Before closing the hole. Put a small amount of fiberfill inside of the arms

Flatten the edges, 4 sc through sts of both layers (closing the hole)


LEGS (make 2)

RND 1: 6 sc in magic ring

Sl st in the 1s st, and ch 1

(do these in each RND of the legs)

RND 2: 1 sc, 1 inc (3x) = 9 sc

RND 3 - 5: sc all around = 3 RNDS of 9 sc

Sl st in the first st and cut off the yarn


Make the other legs with the same procedures and continue working on the body with the same yarn.


BODY


Ch 3, sl st in the last st of the other legs

RND 1: ch 1, 9 sc around the legs, 1 sc in every 3 chs, 9 sc around of the other legs, 1 sc in each of the other side of 3 chs = 24 sc

RND 2: 3 sc, 1 inc (6x) = 30 sc

Put an st marker in the 1st st and work in a continuous spiral

RND 3 - 5: sc all around = 3 RNDS of 30 sc

RND 6: 3 sc, 1 dec (6x) = 24 sc

RND 7 & 8: sc all around = 2 RNDS of 24 sc

RND 9: 2 sc, 1 dec (6x) = 18 sc

RND 10: sc all around = 1 RND of 18 sc

RND 11: 2 sc, join the arms on the body 4 sc through sts of both layers, 5 sc, join the other arms 4 sc through sts of both layers, 3 sc = 18 sc

Stuff the body as you go

Continue working on the head

HEAD

RND 1: FLO, 2 sc, 1 inc (6x) = 24 sc

RND 2: 3 sc, 1 inc (6x) = 30 sc

RND 3: 2 sc, 1 inc, 4 sc (6x) = 36 sc

Start the RND with 2 sc & 1 inc then continue to 4 sc & 1 inc around (end the RND with 2 sc)

RND 4: 5 sc, 1 inc (6x) = 42 sc

RND 5: 3 sc, 1 inc, 6 sc (6x) = 48 sc

Start the RND with 3 sc & 1 inc then continue to 6 sc & 1 inc around (end the RND with 3 sc)

RND 6 - 8: sc all around = 3 RNDS of 48 sc

RND 9: 3 sc, 1 dec, 6 sc (6x) = 42 sc

Start the RND with 3 sc & 1 dec then continue to 6 sc & 1 dec around (end the RND with 3 sc)

RND 10: 5 sc, 1 dec (6x) = 36 sc

Place the st markers to RND 10 in 15 & 22 sts (6 sts apart)

RND 11 - 13: sc all around = 3 RNDS of 36 sc

put the safety eyes where you placed the st markers and place the safety nose in the center of RND 7 (see the video above)

RND 14: 7 sc, join the ears on the head 4 sc through sts of both layers, 1 sc in every 14 sts, join the other ears 4 sc through sts of both layers, 1 sc in every 7 sts = 36 sc

RND 15: 2 sc, 1 dec, 4 sc (6x) = 30 sc

Start the RND with 2 sc & 1 dec then continue to 4 sc & 1 dec around (end the RND with 2 sc)

RND 16: 3 sc, 1 dec (6x) = 24 sc

Stuff the head as you go

RND 17: 1 sc, 1 dec, 2 sc (6x) = 18 sc

Start the RND with 1 sc & 1 dec then continue to 2 sc & 1 dec around (end the RND with 1 sc)

RND 18: 1 sc, 1 dec (6x) = 12 sc

RND 19: dec (6x) = 6 sc

fasten off and cut off the yarn, leaving a long yarn tail

Weave in the front loops of the rest 6 sts, then pull to close the hole, hide the tail, and cut off the excess yarn.
