Crochet Bubble seal amigurumi





 

MATERIALS:


2 mm Tulip crochet hook

6 mm safety eyes

Fiberfill

fabric glue

Tapestry needle and scissor

Mercerized cotton thread in Black


YARNS:


Yarn Art Jeans in Off White for the flippers, tails, body and snout

Milk cotton light yarn in Pink to embroider the cheeks or blush


ABBREVIATIONS:


RND - round

RNDS - rounds

ch - chain

chs - chains

sc - single crochet

st - stitch

sts - stitches

sl st - slip stitch

inc - increase

dec – decrease



 
Flippers (make 2)

RND 1: Make a magic ring and 6 sc inside

Sl st in the 1s st, and ch1

(Do these in each RND)

RND 2: 2 sc, 1 inc (2x) = 8 sc

RND 3: sc all around = 1 RND of 8 sc

ch 1, flatten the edges, 4 sc through sts of both layers (closing the hole)

fasten off and cut off the yarn


Tails (make 2)

RND 1: Make a magic ring and 6 sc inside

Sl st in the 1s st, and ch1

(Do these in each RND)

RND 2: 1 sc, 1 inc (3x) = 9 sc

RND 3 & 4: sc all around = 2 RNDS of 9 sc

RND 5: 1 sc, 1 dec (3x) = 6 sc

sl st in the first st and cut off the yarn.


Make another one with the same procedures and continue working on the body

sl st in the last st of the other tail.


BODY

RND 1: ch 1, 1 sc in the same st, 1 sc in every 5 sts around, 1sc in each of the next 6 sts of the other tail = 12 sc

Put an st marker in the first st and work in a continuous spiral

RND 2: 1 sc, 1 inc (6x) = 18 sc

RND 3: 2 sc, 1 inc (6x) = 24 sc

RND 4: 3 sc, 1 inc (6x) = 30 sc

RND 5: 2 sc, 1 inc, 4 sc (6x) = 36 sc

Start the RND with 2 sc & 1 inc then continue to 4 sc & 1 inc around (end the RND with 2 sc)

RND 6 - 9: sc all around = 4 RNDS of 36 sc

RND 10: 1 sc in every 8 sts, join the flippers to the body; 4 sc through sts of both layers,

join the other flippers to the body; 4 sc through sts of both layers, 1 sc in every 7 sts = 36 sc

RND 11 - 13: sc all around = 3 RNDS of 36 sc

Put the st markers to RND 13 in 15 and 23 sts (7 sts apart) for the safety eyes

RND 14 & 15: sc all around = 2 RNDS of 36 sc

Put the safety eyes where you placed the st markers

RND 16: 2 sc, 1 dec, 4 sc (6x) = 30 sc

Start the RND with 2 sc & 1 dec then continue to 4 sc & 1 dec around (end the RND with 2 sc)

RND 17: 3 sc, 1 dec (6x) = 24 sc

RND 18: 2 sc, 1 dec (6x) = 18 sc

stuff the body with fiberfill, firmly

RND 19: 1 sc, 1 dec (6x) = 12 sc

RND 20: dec (6x) = 6 sc

Sl st in the 1st st and cut off the yarn leaving a long yarn tail. Weave in the front loops of the rest 6 sts, then pull to close the hole, hide the yarn tail, and cut off the

excess yarns.


SNOUT

Make a magic ring and 6 sc inside

sl st in the first st and cut off the yarn
