MATERIALS:
· 2.5 mm crochet hook
· 10 mm safety eyes (any color)
· Fiberfill
· scissor and tapestry needle
Yarns:
· Mercerized cotton thread in Black
for st marker and Pink to embroider the
nose and mouth
· Milk cotton light yarn in Yellow for headband
· Velvet yarn in Beige for head, body, ears,
· legs and arms
ABBREVIATIONS:
RND - round
ch - chain
chs - chains
sc - single crochet
dc – double crochet
st - stitch
sts - stitches
sl st – slip stitch
inc - increase
dec - decrease
FLO – front loop only
EARS (make 2)
RND 1: make a slip knot, ch 2, 6 sc in the second ch from the hook = 6 sc (put the st marker in the first st)
Sl st in the first st and don’t add a ch
(do these in the end of each RND)
RND 2: inc (6x) = 12 sc
RND 3: 3 sc, 1 inc (3x) = 15 sc
RND 4 - 7: sc all around = 4 RNDS of 15 sc
RND 8: 3 sc, 1 dec (3x) = 12 sc
RND 9 - 10: sc all around = 2 RNDS of 12 sc
RND 11: 1 sc, 1 dec (4x) = 8 sc
RND 12: sc all around = 1 RND of 8 sc
Flatten the edges 1 sc through the 4 sts of both layers (closing the hole).
Fasten off and cut off the yarn, leaving a small yarn tail.
ARMS (make 2)
RND 1: ch 2, 6 sc in the second ch from the hook = 6 sc
(put the st marker in the first st)
Sl st in the first st and don’t add a ch
(do these in the end of each RND)
RND 2 – 5: sc all around = 4 RNDS of 6 sc
Flatten the edges 1 sc through the 3 sts of both layers (closing the hole).
Fasten off and cut off the yarn, leaving a small yarn tail.
LEGS (make 2)
RND 1: ch 2, 6 sc in the second ch from the hook = 6 sc
(put the st marker in the first st)
Sl st in the first st and don’t add a ch
(do these in the end of each RND)
RND 2 - 4: sc all around = 3 RNDS of 6 sc
Cut off the yarn, leaving a small yarn tail and make another one then, continue working on the body.
BODY
Ch 2 and sl st in the first st of the other legs
RND 1: 1 sc in every 6 sts around the legs, inc in every 2 chs, 1 sc in every 6 sts of the legs, inc on the other side of every 2 chs = 20 sc
Put the st marker in the first st and work in a continuous spiral
RND 2: 4 sc, 1 inc (4x) = 24 sc
RND 3 - 5: sc all around = 3 RNDS of 24 sc
Stuff the legs with fiberfill firmly
RND 6: 4 sc, 1 dec (4x) = 20 sc
RND 7: 3 sc, 1 dec (4x) = 16 sc
RND 8: sc all around = 1 RND of 16 sc
RND 9: 1 sc in every 2 sts, join the arms on the body 1 sc through 3 sts of both layers, 1 sc in every 5 sts, join the other arms on the body 1 sc through 3 sts of both layers, 1 sc in every 3 sts = 16 sc
Stuff the body firmly then, continue working on the head
HEAD
RND 1: FLO, 1 sc, 1 inc (8x) = 24 sc
RND 2: 3 sc, 1 inc (6x) = 30 sc
RND 3: 2 sc, 1 inc, 4 sc (6x) = 36 sc
Start the RND with 2 sc and 1 inc then, continue to 4 sc and 1 inc around (end the RND 3 with 2 sc)
RND 4 & 5: sc all around = 2 RNDS of 36 sc
Place the st markers to RND 5 in 14 & 21 sts (for safety eyes) 6 sts apart
RND 6 - 9: sc all around = 4 RNDS of 36 sc
RND 10: 1 sc in every 7 sts, join the arms on the head 1 sc through the 4 sts of both layers, 14 sc, join the other arms on the head 1 sc through 4 sts of both layers,
1 sc in each of the next 7 sts = 36 sc
Put the safety eyes (10 mm) where you placed the st markers
RND 11: 2 sc, 1 dec, 4 sc (6x) = 30 sc
Start the RND with 2 sc and 1 dec then, continue to 4 sc and 1 dec around (end the RND 11 with 2 sc)
RND 12: 3 sc, 1 dec (6x) = 24 sc
RND 13: 2 sc, 1 dec (6x) = 18 sc
RND 14: 1 sc, 1 dec (6x) = 12 sc
RND 15: dec (6x) = 6 sc
cut off the yarn, leaving a long yarn tail, and pull through. Weave in the front loops of the rest 6 sts, pull to close the hole then, hide the yarn tail and cut off the excess yarn.
